Clinical Thinking from Everyday Practice
From
Protection
to Living
A complete collection of twenty-five reflections on protection, regulation, safety, healing, and the gradual return to life.
Before asking the body to change, perhaps we must first understand why it learned to protect.
Many people come to care because something hurts. Yet beneath pain, poor sleep, anxiety, exhaustion and recurring symptoms, another question often appears: what is the body trying to protect?
Volume I of Body Reflections explores the movement from protection toward regulation, trust, participation and life. It approaches the body not only as a site of disease, but as a living system continually adapting to experience.
An Invitation
This volume begins with a simple invitation: to stop seeing the body only as something that fails, hurts or needs to be corrected.
These reflections grew from everyday clinical encounters: a breath becoming deeper, a shoulder softening, sleep returning, curiosity reappearing, and a person gradually discovering that the body was never acting against them.

Body Reflections · No.014
The Body Was Always Me
Perhaps the final movement of healing is not returning to the body, but recognising that we were never separate from it.
The journey of this volume began with protection. It ends with a quieter recognition: the body is not an object we carry, repair or overcome. It is the living place where experience becomes our own.
Read the Epilogue →Tianran Wang
Tianran Wang is the founder of Fasciapuncture® and the author of Body Reflections. Her writing grows from everyday clinical practice and more than fifteen years of observing how bodies respond, adapt and change.
Her work explores the relationship between fascia, nervous system regulation, breathing, movement, sleep, attention and the lived experience of healing. At the centre of her clinical philosophy is one idea: the body was never the enemy.
